Yarn Swap Q&A’s
- Do you knit or crochet? How long have you been at your craft? I knit and I learned when I was younger but only got serious about it within the past 2 years or so. I do know how to crochet as well, but I prefer knitting.
- Do you spin? What type of spinning? I would eventually like to learn how to use the drop spindle in an effective manner, but so far I’m just sticking to pre-made yarn. In otherwords, please, no roving.
- Are there any other crafts you participate in? Not really. Knitting is expensive enough!
- What are your favorite yarns/fibers? I like things that are machine washable but I don’t mind hanging things to dry. That said I really go for what feels nice running through my fingers which is why… What are your least favorite yarns/fibers? …I am not a fan of acrylic and/or novelty yarns.
- What are your favorite colors? Red, Blue, Purple, Green… Darker shades rather than lighter shades. What are your least favorite colors? Yellow and Orange. If they are part of a verigated yarn that’s fine, but not as a main color.
- Are there any yarns/brands that you are dying to work with but never have? Noro Sock Yarn, Art Yarns, and pretty much every yarn on the Loopy Ewe’s website!.
- What is/are your favorite types of projects to knit/crochet? I prefer instant gratification sort of projects, but I have been on a sock-yarn kick lately. As of right now (8-15) I have yet to actually FINISH a pair of socks – but I will!
- What are you currently working on? Anything you plan to work on this autumn? I would really really like to give the 2 at a time toe-up socks a try, so maybe even just getting some nice circulars (size 1 or 2) would be awesome! I’m also working on making some fun scarves and hats for Christmas Gifts.

- What is your oldest UFO? I think I’ve frogged most of my UFO’s. If I leave them sitting for too long I forget how to do something and crew it up.
- Are there any techniques that you want to learn? As mentioned above, I’d like to learn how to use a drop spindle to spin my own yarn, and 2 at a time toe-up socks. Other than that, I’d like to learn how to stay true to my yarn-diet!

- Are you a sock knitter? What are your foot measurements? I’ve got some seriously yummy sock yarn in my stash… I WILL be a sock knitter before the year is out. I tend to go for the slightly larger size (what is that… 7.5?) and I like anklet socks versus knee-high anything.
- Do you collect anything? Fun magnets for work and home, shot glasses, and mini bottles of alcohol because you cannot buy them within the city limits!!
- Do you have a yarn winder and/or swift? No, but I have access to one.
- Do you love sweets? What are your favorites? Yes… looove all forms of chocolate, skittles, and orange tic-tacs. Not a fan of chewy sort of sweets.
- What are your favorite scents? Lilacs, and almost any Yankee Candle in existance. I am not a fan of incense.
- Where do you keep your needles/hooks? I have a little roll I made, but there isn’t quite enough room for all of them – I think I need to make a second one!
- Do you have a wishlist (Amazon, Etsy, etc?) I do have one on amazon but prefer not to link to it here.
- Having a birthday this summer? Nope.. had the big 3-0 in February.
- Are you allergic to anything??? No major allergies!
- What is your favorite type of music? Are you MP3 ready? I will listen to just about anything and I am mp3 ready!
- What is your living situation like? Any pets? Children? 3 cats, no kids.
- Do you have an online wish list (Amazon, Etsy, Loopy Ewe, etc.)? I do have wishlists (in fact I just updated mine on the Loopy Ewe) I’d prefer to give you those links via email though. Also, I haven’t updated amazon in a while, but if I do I’ll change this answer here.
